Myoung 2 Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 Needing some help with domains and remote access. My end goal is to be able for me to securely access my network remotely as well as share my emby server with others. I am currently using wireguard through my unraid and it works great for me until my IP address changes. This solution works for me but I want to give access to my emby server (contained in a docker container) to other people. I just purchased a .cc domain from namecheap and that’s what I want to be able to use for remote access for myself as well as guests. Guests would only need access to emby. I started down the path of cloudflare tunnels based on a crosstalk youtube video but I’m not sure if that’s the right solution or not. I need something simple and secure. What would work best in my scenario?

Luke 42083 Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 Hi, did you get the domain working? Why not just use that by itself?

I have it working through cloudflare now, but not sure if that's viable long term. Also have a secure tunnel set up for my server access through CF with one time password webpage before it hits my server. Can't do that with emby so I'm not sure how safe it is? Anyone can go to emby.mydomain.cc and hit my log in page. Is that OK? Passwords are 16 unique characters and very secure.
Luke 42083 Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 It should be fine but obviously depends on your comfort level.
