"Gaming" without actual video card.

My main computer is about 3-4 yrs old, a respectable Intel Core i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz, running Win 11.

I have a boatload of memory (32Gb), and 2 SSD, one of them a M.2

I do not have a separate video card as I'm not a gamer by any stretch.

Recently, I reinstalled MS FlightSim X Deluxe (2006?), and much to my surprise, it is not running smoothly nor reliably.

Surprised because with the specs of my present PC, I figure it should barely break a sweat running a 17 year old software.

What are your thoughts ?

You do need a video card sadly as the game needs one.  Your iGPU is still pretty weak.

That same flight sim sftwr was originally running on a Dell 2004-ish XPS Win7 with a 2004 cpu, mech drives and 4gb memory.

But it did have a graphic card, although not a performance one.

Looks like I'll have to indulge in a new powerhouse pc, and the more current MSFS 2020, or wait for announced 2024 edition.

Thanks guys.
