QuantumGiant 1 Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 Hello, I do not know my way around creating a server and such so now I'm lost. I was working on a separate application when it crashed my system. I rebooted and found that I was no longer connected to the server on my computer. I'm guessing that this is not all the needed info but it is the extent of my knowledge. Thank you for the help.

Luke 42083 Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 HI, what exactly happens when you try to reconnect? Are you sure your Emby Server is running? Can you use the web interface on the server machine?
QuantumGiant 1 Posted August 25, 2023 Author Posted August 25, 2023 I think I have the server up but I'm not sure. It goes to a sign in screen and askes for my email and password , when I put them in it goes to a "select a server" screen but the only options are add a server and "Sign in with Emby Connect" the sign in is a circular process and accomplishes nothing. The add a server askes for a host and that is where I get stuck. I have tried everything I can think of to work and failed.
Luke 42083 Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 What platform have you installed Emby Server on?
Luke 42083 Posted August 26, 2023 Posted August 26, 2023 Are you able to use the Emby web interface directly from the server machine? In other words, start the server, then click the tray icon that Emby adds near the clock.
QuantumGiant 1 Posted August 27, 2023 Author Posted August 27, 2023 This site can’t be reached localhost refused to connect. Try: Checking the connection Checking the proxy and the firewall This is the error I got when trying your way to connect And the page is titled "localhoast:8096"

Did you try starting the server from the windows start menu?
QuantumGiant 1 Posted August 29, 2023 Author Posted August 29, 2023 When I launch Emby from windows it opens a tab in my browser. I'll dabble check tonight and also get the address it thinks it is going to.
QuantumGiant 1 Posted August 29, 2023 Author Posted August 29, 2023 I checked, nothing is happening when I launch Emby. no windows open nothing that I can see.
QuantumGiant 1 Posted August 29, 2023 Author Posted August 29, 2023 Tried to Uninstall Emby and re-install it. " Could not move system directory to backup. System.IO.IOException The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process."
QuantumGiant 1 Posted August 30, 2023 Author Posted August 30, 2023 Restarted the computer. Installation is working now. I guess it is good. Thank you. 1
