nrausch 3 Posted August 24, 2023 Posted August 24, 2023 Does Windows Emby Server now natively support these tuners without the need for WinTV? Thanks 1
nrausch 3 Posted August 24, 2023 Author Posted August 24, 2023 Ok, I had read a post saying it was coming last year. Thanks
pwhodges 2012 Posted August 24, 2023 Posted August 24, 2023 It was coming last year. It's still coming... (It is known to be working, but just hasn't made it to the beta server yet). Paul 1

Thanks While your waiting you can still use your Hauppauge Tuner with emby and have all channels working with an epg guide for all your emby clients. This can be done by using a tvh server with Hauppauge Tuners and using the tvh as an m3u input for emby. Was reading this the other day about raspberry Pi running fine from what I understand. 1

pearsco 0 Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 Any update on when we might expect native support of Hauppauge PCIx tuners in emby ?
pwhodges 2012 Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 There was a commitment by the devs earlier this year to introducing it in the beta after the current one - i.e. not in 4.9, but in 4.10 or 5.0, whatever it gets called. Paul 2
Marlor 6 Posted January 7, 2025 Posted January 7, 2025 Hello, Is there any update on this, please? I tested the latest beta today but couldn’t get it to work. Thank you.

Marlor 6 Posted January 7, 2025 Posted January 7, 2025 Hi Luke, Thank you for your quick response. My particular configuration doesn’t allow me to install WinTV and I was hoping my Hauppauge Quad HD tuner would be automatically recognised like it is in other platforms but it seems that the ability to use the tuner without WinTV isn’t available yet. So I thought I’d ask for an update since the last comment from August mentioned it might come in the next beta. Thank you.
pwhodges 2012 Posted January 7, 2025 Posted January 7, 2025 We haven't got to the next beta yet... Paul

Off Topic, but must say... Whoa, glad I stumbled into this thread and saw this. I had been looking for a 'proxy' of sorts to sit between Slinger and either Channels or Emby to transcode (its stream is 'raw' and needs to be fixed-up) and restream a Slinger feed into form that Channels or Emby can digest. But never found something that checked all the boxes and set that aside. TVH could be that. Thanx for mentioning it! Edited January 10, 2025 by them8os235
nrausch 3 Posted September 9, 2025 Author Posted September 9, 2025 Just checking back in on this since the thread is old now... Does Windows Emby Server now natively support Hauppauge tuners without the need for WinTV? (I'm assuming there will be support, as stated, in the next Beta release.) Thanks
pwhodges 2012 Posted September 9, 2025 Posted September 9, 2025 Not yet. The next beta will be after 4.9 is released, which they have started hinting is getting close - but we'll see! Paul
Luke 42077 Posted September 9, 2025 Posted September 9, 2025 It won't be in the very next beta right after the 4.9 release, just FYI.
pwhodges 2012 Posted September 9, 2025 Posted September 9, 2025 I would expect not - but it will come in during that beta cycle, though, right? Paul

arrbee99 1814 Posted September 9, 2025 Posted September 9, 2025 I think the devs should consider going into politics, they've certainly mastered the art of not answering the question. 1
dark_aegis 3 Posted February 5 Posted February 5 (edited) Eagerly awaiting this. Trying to save money so I don't wanna spend the cash for WinTV if this is coming soon, and I'm not ready to upgrade to an ATSC 3.0 HDHomerun considering the DRM debacle. I'll hop on the beta test right away - this is just about the only thing keeping Plex on my PC! Edited February 5 by dark_aegis 1
denz 501 Posted February 6 Posted February 6 There is higher chance that pigs will fly first before you see this. It was ready five years ago and now because of updates it won’t be ready for another 5 years.
