tantalos 1 Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 As you can see on the attached picture, date of birth/death is always one day off in all Android TV and Fire TV client apps.
ebr 16169 Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 Hi. I believe the app is adjusting to your local time. Does it show differently in the web app?

Hi @ebr It's working on different (client apps) like LG Web OS, on the web app or Android apps, except Android TV and Fire TV. 22 minutes ago, ebr said: Hi. I believe the app is adjusting to your local time. Maybe, but it shouldn't, cos a (absolute) date is a date, no matter what your local time is. Edited August 22, 2023 by tantalos
Luke 42077 Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 Agreed that it shouldn't. It's something we'll need to look at changing the way that it's stored. 1
tantalos 1 Posted August 22, 2023 Author Posted August 22, 2023 (edited) @Luke As you can see, the behaviour is a little bit weird: If you call an item via your Media, date of birth and death are wrong. if you call it via favorites, only date of death is wrong. Edited August 22, 2023 by tantalos 1
tantalos 1 Posted August 22, 2023 Author Posted August 22, 2023 App versions are: Shield 2.0.89a and Fire Stick 2.0.79a

Well, actually, it isn't. Dates are very dependent on where you are. For instance, if I die tonight at 11pm my time (EDT) and you are in the UK. Then I died tomorrow from your perspective (at the exact time of my death it will be Aug 23rd). But, dates of death don't even contain times and we don't know where the person was when they died so we can't be that pedantic . But, we convert all dates to UTC for storage so that, in and of itself, will have an impact on how we interpret it.
tantalos 1 Posted June 24, 2024 Author Posted June 24, 2024 10 months and no chance to fix such a simple error?

Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares? Thanks.
