damarges 0 Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 (edited) As the Titel says when using my Android clients to download movies for offline Playback I get presented with several bitrates for the Download. But regardless what I choose, the app always downloads the file in original size. No transcoding is done on the server is done (at least I think so. No CPU/GPU load and Instant downloading with 400mbit in the WiFi here). What am I doing wrong? Android App Version: 3.3.0.7 Emby Server (linuxserver.io docker Image With Hardware acceleration Intel CPU enabled) version: 4.7.13.0 Edited August 22, 2023 by damarges Added App and Server details

damarges 0 Posted August 25, 2023 Author Posted August 25, 2023 Anyone got an idea? I found out that when I select a custom rate and if its quite low (lets say 7mbit or lower) then the transcoding takes place. But not reproducable every time. Is there no option to enable like "always transcode to maximum 1080p 10mbit?" so I can tap on "download movie" and don't think about it and I get an acceptable filesize with decent quality?

damarges 0 Posted August 26, 2023 Author Posted August 26, 2023 I will do this evening. Which specific information may help you? Original source movie filesize, codec, container, average bitrate? Any logfiles from emby?
