Episodes' metadata out of order

Hello. I've just set up my first library, and everything is looking good except for one thing. One show's episodes are completely out of order. Well, technically they're in the order I put them in, but the metadata is all wrong.

X-Men: The Animated Series originally aired its episodes out of order. So all the movie database sites have the incorrect order listed. I have the files on my hard drive arranged in the order the Wikipedia entry lists them, the order they were supposed to air in. When I added that show to my server, it put the episodes in the order I have them, but assigned wrong metadata to many of them. Is there any way to fix this without having to go manually into each episode's metadata? There's a lot of episodes here to fix. The library is a mixed content library, if that makes a difference. Thank you.

Randomly checking Wikipedia list:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_X-Men:_The_Animated_Series_episodes

to me that appears same as TVDB DVD order:

Three-dot menu on Series level>Edit Metadata>change Display order to DVD>Save, Three-dot menu on Series level>Refresh Metadata>Replace all.

I appreciate the reply, but those are definitely not the same order.

I tried doing what you said in the menus, though changing display order to absolute instead of DVD. It hasn't worked yet, but I'm still giving it time. From what I've seen from Emby so far, changes don't always take effect immediately.

What do you mean by that, as they are literally same, episode for episode?

That won't do anything, as for Absolute order you need to have all episodes inside single season named/numbered sequentially (i.e. S01E01 to S01E77); besides, Absolute is usually based on seasonless Aired order, which you apparently do not want.

I don't know where you're getting your screenshots from, but when I click on the link you posted to TheTVDB it shows me a completely different list of episodes.

Here's an image. Not sure why we're seeing different lists.

One would assume BIG RED ARROW is pretty indicative where do you need to click.

Oh man, I must be blind!

Okay, I did what you said, but it's still not working. The episodes are still all out of order, and now the episode descriptions are gone. When I check the series metadata again, it keeps switching back to aired order, even after I change it to DVD and hit save, and refresh the metadata.

Do you have a tvshow nfo file in your series folder?

No, no nfo file. But I don't have them for any of my other series either, and none of them have had any problems.

I tried setting the episode order to DVD again, saving, and refreshing the metadata. Now all of the series images are gone, no descriptions, and the episodes are still titled wrong. Should I just remove it and re-add it?

EDIT: God help me, I don't know why or how, but it's working now. After changing the order and refreshing AGAIN, I re-identified and it finally took. Don't know why, because it wasn't the first time I tried that, but I'm just glad it's working. Thanks for your help, and GrimReaper, sorry about being dense earlier. It's been a long day.
