Ladiesman0217 14 Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 (edited) Old device: Google Pixel 4XL New device: Google Pixel 7 Pro New device app version: Emby for Android 3.3.20 Issue: When I had Emby on my 4XL I had some features which are missing from my 7 Pro. The "pause, rewind, forward" links were in the middle of the screen when I would tap on the screen during playback.... now they are just in the footer of the screen like older app versions. Also, there used to be the ability to adjust screen brightness on the right side of the screen which is now gone. Another issue that came up because of the missing brightness setting is that I would pause the app and then go change my screen brightness in system settings and when I came back to the app it would not honor the screen brightness that I had just set. it would stay too dim at the previous screen brightness. Please let me know if there's a quick fix to get the newer features on my phone or if this is an issue with my phone model specifically. I can provide logs if needed. Thanks! Luke 42077 Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 Hi, we're looking into this. Thanks for reporting. 1
Luke 42077 Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 Hi, how does the Emby web app compare on the same device?
Ladiesman0217 14 Posted September 2, 2023 Author Posted September 2, 2023 Brightness issue is not present on the Web app. Other than that it's the same UI. Buttons are on the bottom rather than in the middle of the screen.
Luke 42077 Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 Hi, as a test, can you try installing Chrome beta 117? You won't see brightness but please let me know if the layout is different. Thanks.
Ladiesman0217 14 Posted September 2, 2023 Author Posted September 2, 2023 Just tried with chrome beta 117 and the layout is the same for me.
Luke 42077 Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 You're positive it's 117? can you visit this page and tell me what it says: https://andreasburg.de/browser-hover-check.html
Ladiesman0217 14 Posted September 2, 2023 Author Posted September 2, 2023 I don't see a browser version on that link but here's a screenshot of the About page in the chrome beta settings
Luke 42077 Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 For that test page, do chrome stable and beta produce different results? And then can you try this page and scroll down: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/@media/pointer Does the checkbox have a red or blue border?
Ladiesman0217 14 Posted September 4, 2023 Author Posted September 4, 2023 That test page has the same contents for both chrome stable and beta. The checkbox has a blue border in both browsers. 1
Luke 42077 Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 Back to android, can you please try this build: https://www.dropbox.com/s/u1obwrckg4lkjc8/emby-android-google-armeabi-v7a-release.apk?dl=0 And let me know how things compare. Thanks.
Ladiesman0217 14 Posted September 4, 2023 Author Posted September 4, 2023 (edited) My device won't open that APK. Is it maybe the wrong build type for Pixel 7 Pro? I think I need arm64. Edited September 4, 2023 by Ladiesman0217
Luke 42077 Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 Are you sure you downloaded it? What was the size?
Ladiesman0217 14 Posted September 4, 2023 Author Posted September 4, 2023 (edited) 32.13 MB Edited September 4, 2023 by Ladiesman0217
Luke 42077 Posted September 4, 2023 Posted September 4, 2023 OK how about this. Can you please try our hosted web app in Chrome beta: http://app.emby.media Please let me know if the issue is resolved there. Thanks.
Ladiesman0217 14 Posted September 4, 2023 Author Posted September 4, 2023 (edited) Yep. The buttons are back in the middle of the screen for both chrome and chrome beta if I use the app.emby.media site. Edited September 4, 2023 by Ladiesman0217
Ladiesman0217 14 Posted September 4, 2023 Author Posted September 4, 2023 (edited) You're awesome Luke! Thanks for allowing me to be a part of making Envy even better! I'm a software dev myself but I have no clue what languages or platforms this product is built on. I appreciate your dedication to helping your app community! Luke 42077 Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 Thanks. What version of Chrome was that on?
Luke 42077 Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 Actually what I really need is top of that page where it says your device. can you please upload that screenshot?
Ladiesman0217 14 Posted September 14, 2023 Author Posted September 14, 2023 I thought I did. Must have missed that screenshot. As you can see, it's not detecting my device name.
