Can't reset admin password

Hello,

I lost my password for emby admin

I follow the instructions on "Using Synology NAS Emby Server but can't retrieve lost password"

After I enter the pin code. it tells me the next login will be with empty password

When I try to login with empty password, I get the message "invalid user name or password"

What do I miss ?

Hi, are you sure you got the username right?

 What user did you reset the password for?

Yes I am sure

The user is ziv

What exactly did you enter into the forgot password process? What did it say after that?

This is the procedure I try:

Enter user "ziv"

Receive the message that the file in "/var/packages/EmbyServer/var/passwordreset.txt"

go to Terminal 

SSH admin@my_ip

sudo -i

cd /volume1/@appdata/EmbyServer

cat /var/packages/EmbyServer/var/passwordreset.txt

Receive the pin code

go to "http://my_ip:8096/web/index.html#!/startup/forgotpasswordpin.html"

enter pin

Receive the message "password removed for the following users. Enter with empty password"

Go to manual login

User "ziv"

Password skip

Receive the message "wrong user and password"

I don't attach screens because its all in hebrew

Did it list any users underneath that? If it didn't list any then that means there were no users found with that name. This message has been improved for the upcoming 4.8 server release to help make that more clear.

Since it sounds like you may have forgotten the username, you may want to try leaving it blank on the forgot password screen.
