jriker1 21 Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 Think this has been and still is a no but thought I'd ask. is there a way to create a manual linked collection from multiple sub collections? So for example: Despicable Me and Minions Both of these are basically the same group of movies but are in two separate collections. They are watched in a specific order Despicable Me 1 Despicable Me 2 Minions 2015 Despicable Me 3 Minions 2022 But you can't create a view linking to these movies and sorting them the way you want to watch them in. Same could be said, and I'm not going to go there but with the Marvel Universe and a lot of other independent movies that are technically linked to each other.

Not automatically, but you can just add all those movies to another new collection manually (item can be a part of multiple collections) and default sort by Release Date should give you the result you're after.
jriker1 21 Posted August 10, 2023 Author Posted August 10, 2023 (edited) Thanks I'm game. Not seeing it. How do you create a new collection manually and link existing items to it? EDIT: Haven't tried it but assuming this will have the answers: https://emby.media/support/articles/Collections.html#:~:text=To create a collection manually%2C start with a Movie%2C Series, menu on the detail screen Edited August 10, 2023 by jriker1

Three-dot menu on an item>Add to Collection>click "+ New Collection" up top>type desired collection title. Add remaining items by selecting that same collection once Add to Collection dialog pops-up. pwhodges 2012 Posted August 11, 2023 Posted August 11, 2023 Slightly simpler is to multi-select the items you want, then go to Add to Collection from the 3-dot menu at the top right to choose or add the collection to be used for all the items at once. Paul 1
jriker1 21 Posted August 11, 2023 Author Posted August 11, 2023 (edited) Ahh cool thanks. Now trying to figure out how to manually sort. I only see options to sort by Title or Release Date. Not by Sort Title. My bad I see it now. Edited August 11, 2023 by jriker1
