Schleudertrauma 10 Posted August 10, 2023 Posted August 10, 2023 Hey there friends, i am searching for a possibility to loadbalance emby on two systems where both systems have the same data from a database i.e. mariadb or else in case one system is unreachable. It is needed that the data between these 2 systems is synchronised especially for user data so that a user has i.e. the same play state on system 1 although he has watched on system 2 and vice versa but i don't know how to realise that. I am running a pfSense and haproxy on it in front of my proxmox environment in case this info is needed. Emby on System 1 is reachable via the net and haproxy handles all traffic coming in on port 80 and 443 and sends it via 'host matches' to the several backend servers. Maybe someone can help me out here? Thanks in advance. Greetz Schleudi
Luke 42078 Posted August 11, 2023 Posted August 11, 2023 Hi, there is currently no supported approach for this, although it's something we're interested in exploring down the road.
Schleudertrauma 10 Posted August 11, 2023 Author Posted August 11, 2023 But emby is using a sql database, isn't it? So isn't it possible to transfer the data to an external database?
Luke 42078 Posted August 11, 2023 Posted August 11, 2023 sqlite, however we don't have any official support at this time for trying to point two servers to the same database.
adminExitium 355 Posted August 12, 2023 Posted August 12, 2023 For whenever you do get around to it, some options: https://github.com/losfair/mvsqlite https://github.com/rqlite/rqlite https://github.com/canonical/dqlite https://github.com/libsql/sqld https://github.com/superfly/litefs 2
Schleudertrauma 10 Posted August 20, 2023 Author Posted August 20, 2023 Too sad that i am not really familiar with sql and database handling. Maybe i need to get more experience with that.
