Internet streaming bitrate limits don't limit transcoded bitrate

Found this, seems maybe related but not quite.

I have Emby set to limit the internet streaming bandwidth to 8mbps per stream.

However, it appears as though if a stream needs to transcode (like...for client compatibility issues) then the bitrate can exceed the set 8mbps (see screenshot).

Your screenshot shows in-LAN playback (192.168.1.1 IP) to which Internet streaming limit does not apply; based on that address (likely a router or reverse proxy) and your description, I'd guess remote address is not interpreted properly - do you have an RP in front of your Emby server or use a VPN?

Hi, yes I am using HAProxy in front of Emby.

Very weird, I missed that before!

Thank you so much!

For anyone looking in the future, add "option forwardfor" in your frontend to passthrough the original connecting IP.
