jsc1205 51 Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 Is there a way to enable Emby to display resolution, audio codec, HDR format, etc for an ISO file?
pwhodges 2012 Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 An iso file itself doesn't have such properties - it is a container for other files, which may have varying properties. Paul
jsc1205 51 Posted August 5, 2023 Author Posted August 5, 2023 So would Emby pick up that info if the file name had it in there? Example: Star Wars (1977).4k.UHD.Atmos.ISO
pwhodges 2012 Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 (edited) I'd be surprised - but I'm always prepared to be surprised... But note that some years ago Luke indicated that any further development of iso support was unlikely ("perhaps if it was still 2010..." he wrote). It is recommended to strip the video files out of the iso and import those into Emby. The best program for that is MakeMKV which simply reads the streams off the disk image and puts them into MKV containers - there is no transcoding (you can do that later if you want, of course). You have to identify and name the resulting file manually. Paul Edited August 5, 2023 by pwhodges
Luke 42079 Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 Hi, for the best experience possible we suggest converting to plain video files.
