clear music playlist

Hi, how can ik clear the playlist in the music tab? if i want to clear it, its remove all te content.

i want to make a own playslst with sever all numbers.

now its all te music on the server.

Hi, you would have to just delete your existing playlists.

Hi , thanks for the relpy. i want indeed clear the existing playlists, there are the same as the albums .

if i want to remove a playlist, its gives the message dat it will remove from the server.

what is the way to clear this overview playlists. ik have now about 360 playlists

Have you tried using the multi-select tool to delete more than one at a time? You could also just delete the playlist files from your file system and then run a library scan.

Hi Luke, don't think i tell it correct, i want only remove the files from the playlist, not the music files.

this overview is the same as the tab albums

OK then you have to click on a playlist and remove the items manually. There isn't a button to clear a playlist, although it's probably not a bad idea.

i will remove the M3u files from the server, and let the one i want stay.

Hello, I just faced this problem as well and either I select all playlists or one at a time, I receive the same message that tells me the entries will be deleted from both filesystem and media. I didn't think about the "Import playlists" option when I first scanned my music library, so now I have 32265 Items in the Playlists tab, which make the switch from Home to Dashboard sluggish. I want to get rid of them without deleting them from actual media. I have already disabled the "Import playlists" option. How can I do this? I am on Version 4.8.0.80 for Windows.

Hi, if you disabled the option then try running a library scan.

I am doing that, but it takes several hours. Meanwhile, before scan, I thought that it could be a good idea to temporarily move all *.m3u files to recycle bin and restore them after scan is finished.

That won't make them disappear from the Emby UI. In fact that won't really accomplish anything. You need to just wait for the scan to complete.

Ok, done. It took more that a day because at some point I noticed Monitoring was enabled and the scan was restarting over and over. In the end the playlists were removed except, weirdly, 39, that for some reason remained in the GUI with broken image icon. I manually deleted those, no big deal.
