My friends and family are not able to connect to my server to view media. They keep getting a " Connection Failure " error. Can someone help me to fix this issue?

I’m not sure what more I can say. Remote users are not able to connect to the server. They are receiving an error message. “ connection failure “. The Emby server is working in my home on my local network, the issue appears to be with remote users. I’ve restarted the Emby app, restarted my PC and restarted my router. Remote users still can not gain access.

So have you followed the previous advice given ?

A link was provided - have you run through this ? https://emby.media/support/articles/Remote-Setup.html

Give feedback on what steps have worked and what have not - give examples if you can - that will give us a clue on where to start ...

Have you changed the default port to port 80 ?

unless changed - you need to check port 8096 if just using http.

It's all in the instructions ... ;)

Changed port to 8096 on canyouseeme.org

Success: I can see your service on

But I am still not able to remote access into my media?

Just via a browser and your IP address before it got redacted .. ;)

I've also tried from around the world using a VPN - I don't see any issues ..

Make sure she is using a http://YOUR_IP:8096 - or port 8096 if she is using a non web client.  Do not use https.

ok - so that's AndroidTV right ?

Press and hold on the 'server' to remove it (or click 'remove') on the message - and then try again with the info below

server = http://YOUR_IP (the 47.197.x.x one)

Port = 8096

It should then connect ... :)
