karensmith6789 2 Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 Emby is unable to identify TV shows automatically when manually identifying using name and year or TVDB or IMBD reference. Example file structure is Title/Season 1/S01EXX
karensmith6789 2 Posted July 27, 2023 Author Posted July 27, 2023 All new series are affected: for example Futurama returns no search results Futurama\Season 8\S08E01
Solution GrimReaper 4744 Posted July 27, 2023 Solution Posted July 27, 2023 Maybe you have issues reaching the providers, your connection timing out or something blocking it? Post server log. 1
karensmith6789 2 Posted July 27, 2023 Author Posted July 27, 2023 thank you. it was my VPN provider 1 1
sdrob18 0 Posted August 12, 2023 Posted August 12, 2023 I'm having a similar issue but am not running a VPN. When trying to use the 'Identify' feature for a documentary I digitized from VHS, Emby returns an immediate error "No items matching your search criteria were found." I am configured as an administrator. TVDB URL: https://thetvdb.com/movies/thunderbolt-1947 (77252) Does a more in-depth image and metadata editing document exist beyond what's found on the Emby support Community and Wiki? I seem to be chasing my tail trying to update incorrectly identified content for music, movies and tv shows as the built-in tools don't seem to work for me in these instances. Happy to keep learning - just not sure where to go next.
GrimReaper 4744 Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 What are your library enabled providers and in what order? You can also post server log from the time when trying to identify.
Luke 42081 Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 In addition to the questions above, what search criteria did you enter into the Identify dialog?
sdrob18 0 Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 Log file and screenshot of library enabled providers attached (I think these are default as installed): For search criteria, I used the TVDB number of 77252. embyserver.txt
Luke 42081 Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 What fetchers are enabled in the library options, and in what order?
Luke 42081 Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 Quote For search criteria, I used the TVDB number of 77252. How did you use this? Where did you enter it?
sdrob18 0 Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 My apologies on the movie fetchers question - I cannot seem to find where those are located. I'm checking 'Library' and 'Library > Advanced' and not seeing it. As for the search criteria, I entered the TVDB number in the respective field after selecting 'Identify'. But your question may have prompted the answer...I currently have this file in a 'TV Shows' folder, not the 'Movies' folder. Would that make a difference, even though it comes up at the TVDB site? I see they have it categorized as a movie, even though it's really a documentary.

sdrob18 0 Posted August 13, 2023 Posted August 13, 2023 (edited) ok - thank you very much for your help. To follow up on the movie fetchers question, I did find these and the current order is: TheTVDB, TheMovieDb, then The Open Movie Database. Perhaps I should change the order?
