When I first setup Emby Premiere on my Windows Server connected to my SAN solution several years ago to hold my entire media collection (2 TB) and share it across my household part of the intent was to always have content available even when my internet connection is broken (i.e. no Netflix etc). At my last internet outage which lasted about 24 hours due to some bad weather I realized that Emby will no longer function without an internet connection presumably because it can't validate my Emby Premiere License? I am not sure when this behavior changed. Can someone confirm that this is the way this works and if so then is there some kind of way around this?

Basically yes, if your server can't validate license it'll run on cache (up to max. three weeks, more or less); ditto for client apps: some will work for some time, some will outright refuse to start and/or connect; Browser are your safest bet, as Web app will work under any circumstance: no internet, intermittent internet.

I don't understand the browser answer, I use the Emby App on my XBoxes to access my Emby server but I can't if there is no internet connection. Are you saying that it might be cached for a while and in the case of a one day outage, it should work?

You posted in General/Windows and that's the kind of answer you got, not Xbox specific.

Guess would be Xbox client (AFAIK that's basically Theater client app) falls into latter territory, @Luke?

I think I have a similar issue, if the internet down, some apps refuse to connect even when accessing server on the local LAN, Other work but keep poppig up a banner asking to purchase Emby Premiere or continue after 10 seconds the browser one works but also has states I need to purchase Emby Premier even though I can see my Emby Premier key in the settings

HI, we'll look at improving this. Thanks for the feedback.

That would be great, I've had Emby Premiere for 7 years and don't want to give it up but I don't want to have to maintain two solutions, one for online and one for offline access. It seems like you could cache the license for several days in the event of a loss of connection to your license servers.

It's already cached for a week, supposedly.
