cjlong45 17 Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 this may sound like a weird question but i have noticed movies i had on emby that were in 1080p are now 480p is it possible that emby is changing the files to meet the freindly streaming format ?
ebr 16187 Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 Hi. No, not unless you setup a conversion job to do just that.
cjlong45 17 Posted July 23, 2023 Author Posted July 23, 2023 i havent specifically done that no is there a way to check to see if it is doing it somehow?
darkassassin07 652 Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 Do you have anything like Radarr or Sonarr setup? They could have miss-identified the original files and replaced them with what they thought were upgrades. Emby itself would not have done this unless you explicitly setup a conversion job for that particular media and told it to replace the old files with the new conversions. Seems unlikely. 1
cjlong45 17 Posted July 23, 2023 Author Posted July 23, 2023 The only conversation that is done is automatic I haven't set it up which is to make it streaming friendly or something along those lines
pwhodges 2012 Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 Emby does no file replacement except when you explicitly set up conversion of individual files. But Emby may, of course be automatically transcoding files during streaming to clients which cannot handle the original, but the original files will never be affected by this; or are you thinking that some other program is doing automatic conversions? Paul
