pashleyrob 0 Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Hi Fairly new to emby, have it installed on my Synology 220J added my emby connect email to the server admin account and as soon as that saved lost all access to server admin and dashboard, now cannot log into server as all login option including the server login show as a user rather than admin. How can I fix this and access server admin?

Luke 42083 Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Hi, try clicking the button on the login screen to manually enter your admin username and password and let us know if that helps. Thanks.
pashleyrob 0 Posted July 22, 2023 Author Posted July 22, 2023 When i do this It keeps coming up with the 'Sign In Error' Invalid username or password dialogue
pwhodges 2012 Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Are you using the Connect login or the original admin login? Paul
pashleyrob 0 Posted July 22, 2023 Author Posted July 22, 2023 I tied my connect email address to my original admin login which has caused the problem, if I log in via admin profile then I don't get any dashboard or admin tool, but if I log in manually using my original admin login it then logs me into the same account lacking admin controls.

Are you sure it's the same user on your server as before? Try clearing browsing data and see if that helps.
pashleyrob 0 Posted July 23, 2023 Author Posted July 23, 2023 Hi, yes i am, i have cleared the user data and tried it on 2 different browsers. Getting the same result. Is there a way to use SSH or something the edit or delete the user file or to unlink the emby connect email address from admin user. i have no way into the server admin dashboard using admin credentials.

Can you get to the server configuration files?
pashleyrob 0 Posted July 23, 2023 Author Posted July 23, 2023 Hi i can get to the file via WinSCP and SSH via PuTTY, I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for when I get there though. I do understand what you mean and I wish it was working like that, it was in the local admin profile that had the option to add emby connect email address (optional). when I added this was when the problem started, as whenever I tried to log in with local admin credentials it loaded without any admin permissions or admin dashboard thus making me unable to alter the profile back. it behaves this way both when I log in via emby connect or when I log in manually using the local admin credentials. Im at a bit of a loss, with I can get in via WinSCp and make a change to remove the linked emby account and it reverts back.... or I need to try to delete the install package from the volume (as I have tried to uninstall and reinstall emby, however the user info is retained in the reinstall)
Luke 42083 Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 Hi, we can have @Carlojump on a remote session with you and take a look at what's going on.
