LittleKinder 15 Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 Hello, from time to time while watching tv shows i get this error No compatible streams are currently available https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/450978578062901250/1131029617751367761/image.png I use windows 10 and run emby on my computer with hardrive plugged in. I open emby with chrome I thought it was because my hardrive wasn't plugged in but i can still access it through windows. Weird thing if i unplug and plug again the hardrive the error will go away Here are the last logs if anyone can help me figure it out, i checked other threads with the same issue but it doesn't appear to be the same thing here. Thank you very much embyserver (1).txt
ebr 16187 Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 Hi. Yes, it looks like you are losing connection to the drive. Assuming it is an external USB drive, I would suggest trying a different port.

Yeah but that's the thing i can still access the hardrive with windows explorer and still can't read the content via emby One of my friend told me that hardrives can be on some sort of "sleep" mode, so i will look into that Edited July 19, 2023 by LittleKinder
ebr 16187 Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 Yes, it could be going to sleep and then you wake it back up by accessing it with file explorer and then don't know why anything is wrong.

Yep i changed the parameter, will see if it works https://www.thewindowsclub.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/Prevent-External-Hard-Disk-sleep.jpg
LittleKinder 15 Posted July 19, 2023 Author Posted July 19, 2023 So basically i changed multiple parameters for usb and it worked in battery parameters you deactivate this And in peripheral managers (not sure if this one is useful but alone it didn't work) untick this for every usb 1
LittleKinder 15 Posted July 19, 2023 Author Posted July 19, 2023 nevermind it didn't work, i'm out of ideas xD
GrimReaper 4749 Posted July 19, 2023 Posted July 19, 2023 I never let any of my spinners go to sleep, number of tools available online, here's the one I use: GitHub - stsrki/KeepAliveHD: Prevent hard-drives from going into sleep mode. Give it a spin (), see how does that compare. 1

LittleKinder 15 Posted July 19, 2023 Author Posted July 19, 2023 Still happening even with a 3mn setting, i'm going crazy
Luke 42083 Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 Does the drive at least start spinning up when this happens? Normally any kind of file access will wake it up, so I’m wondering if it’s just not spinning up quickly enough before the video player gives up and raises the error.

Might be that yeah, doesn't happen now but not sure what fixed it 1
