Blue Kachina 12 Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 I'm using the web client for server version 3.0.5031.21343, and it doesn't appear to be properly displaying all of the albums for some artists, and I'm not too sure why. Is anyone else running into this problem? Steps to reproduce: Route to URL for web client Login Go into music Enter an artist name into the search box Choose the recommended artist See attached screenshot to see what I mean. Multiple albums are present in the current list view, but see the (1) beside the number of albums in the albums list.
Luke 42077 Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 it's because the album folder is not being recognized as an album. so the server thinks you have the songs randomly scattered. someone else reported this recently and i can't remember if i gave them a solution or if i found a bug and told them it would be fixed for the next release. try searching, and if you cant' find it i'll see if i can jar my memory.
Solution Blue Kachina 12 Posted October 19, 2013 Author Solution Posted October 19, 2013 Thanks Luke; Guess I should have referenced the sticky to determine the recommended folder structure. For anyone else experiencing this problem... that post can be found here: http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/674-media-files-folders-structure/&do=findComment&comment=21480 I had one extra level of nested folders (artist/audio/album), and I guess MBServer wasn't liking that. 1
Blue Kachina 12 Posted October 19, 2013 Author Posted October 19, 2013 (edited) The one challenge I seem to be still fighting is in dealing with albums that span multiple CDs. Take "The Fragile" by Nine Inch Nails for example. It's a 2-disc album. Disc 1 being labeled "Left" and Disc 2 being labeled "Right". I've kept this album organized as follows in the past: NINThe FragileDisc 1 - Left Disc 2 - Right Have you any suggestions on how better to handle this? (The sticky entitled "Media Files & Folders Structure" does not cover this) Edited October 19, 2013 by Blue Kachina
Luke 42077 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 As of right now you would need to put them all in one directory.
