Emby should use local NFO's generated by Filebot but messes it up

Okay i try to add Phineas and Ferb in Production Order to my Emby Server.

There are always two Episodes per file, thats how it was broadcasted here in Germany. I can only get this sorting by taking a special order of TMDB https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/1877-phineas-and-ferb/episode_group/5f30d9417739410035ea03dc . I know that Emby cant handle that directly.

So my next thougt was, run it throught filebot and let it generate nfo files that contain the data. That was succesfull. For every Episode there is an nfo containing at least title, summary etc. of the correct episode.

I also ticked the nfo metadata reader:

But when Emby imports it it totally messes it up.

There is only one Episode Title and the Episode Numbers dont fit at all.

What am i doing wrong?

Can you provide one of the NFOs written by Filebot?

Yeah, but even if it was Episode 2 Emby wouldn't read it, as it doesn't support that format.

That means even if i can create valid NFO's which hold the details of bothe episodes Emby would ne be able the read this correctly?

It does only work if Emby cann pull it from an online source (which it does not support). Did i get that correctly?

In that Kodi-format written NFO: yes. It's a long standing peeve I have with Emby as well, as my collection is completely driven by externally-written NFOs.

Again yes (and/or if Emby writes NFO in a multi-episode format it will recognize - legacy type, btw).

Okay maybe an idea do you think it would work if i scrape it with Kodi, because Kodi's TMBD scraper seems to support the alternate ordering (https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=338467)  and than load it into Tiny Media Manager which would than output Emby Style nfo?

You'd still get multiple <episodedetails> nodes (which is the gist of the problem, as only the first one gets read), but after passing it through TMM you'd at least get <episodenumberend> tag; note that you'd still get only first episode title/overview/IDs etc. read by Emby.

But at least i would get the correct ordering

Sure, worst that can happen is you'll end up in the same place you're in now. 🙂
