dylan62370 6 Posted July 12, 2023 Posted July 12, 2023 Hello, I'm having a transcoding problem, when I watch a movie in 4K, transcoding will activate You're going to tell me this is normal, except that the Emby is at home and so is the TV on which I'm watching my film. The two devices are connected via 1G Ethernet. In the TV settings I'm in 4K 140 mbps, but in the dashboard I have transcoding (4K HEVC Transcoder (H264 39 mbps)).
GrimReaper 4740 Posted July 12, 2023 Posted July 12, 2023 Have you explored SFN on your TV or server Dashboard to see reason for transcoding? You can also post ffmpeg log created for that session.

dylan62370 6 Posted July 16, 2023 Author Posted July 16, 2023 Hello, I've tested it on another film for which I'm almost unable to play it on TV and at home, and on ethernet, the same applies to the Emby. Here's the movie information: Playback is in 4K 160 mb/s. The film plays on a 4K OLED LG TV purchased this year very recently.

Hello, Sorry for the late return... Quality is set to 4K with bandwidth set to 160 mb/s. If I reduce it's worse because of the encoding... I don't understand why there's encoding knowing that I have a latest-generation OLED TV... And that I have plenty of bandwidth to play this type of film.
Luke 42078 Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
