DragoMag 4 Posted July 11, 2023 Posted July 11, 2023 Hello, I'm currently trying to link my Emby server to my domain name (in this discussion we'll assume it's "DragoMag.fr" for example). Obviously, I asked around before I came across another post (https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/29437-emby-domain-name/) and I followed. The DNS settings look good, I put the SSL certificate that I converted to .pfx from openssl and the ports too. I'm posting screenshots anyway. I've been doing this since this morning (about 6 hours ago). DNS propagation could be a cause, but I don't think so. I'll give you more details when we talk. I wish you a pleasant day, thank you in advance for your answers.
pwhodges 2012 Posted July 11, 2023 Posted July 11, 2023 You don't say what specifically is wrong. Have you gone through the requirements for remote access as described in the Emby support article on the subject? https://emby.media/support/articles/Remote-Setup.html Paul
DragoMag 4 Posted July 11, 2023 Author Posted July 11, 2023 For WAN access I've set up my domain name, but when I want to access it I don't get the Emby page.
pwhodges 2012 Posted July 11, 2023 Posted July 11, 2023 Things you might need to do: Point your domain name to your external address; Specify in your router port-forwarding from that address to your server's local address, changing the port if desired; Ensure that your server's local firewall will allow the connection. Port-forwarding can sometimes be automatic (using uPNP), but it needs to be enabled in both Emby and your Router (if it's even offered); and doing it that way is less flexible (you can't specify a different port), and enabling uPNP is a security risk anyway. Which of these things have you done? If you plan to add a certificate for https access, there's more to do, of course, but you can think about that later if you want. Paul
