aldriglikvid 4 Posted July 9, 2023 Posted July 9, 2023 Hi guys, I have a Chromecast Ultra and I try to directplay some footage with AAC 5.1 and I just noticed that the audio gets forced transcoding. From what I can remember, this wasn't always the case. Is there anything I can do on my part? My receiver can play/decode it. Thanks!
Luke 42079 Posted July 10, 2023 Posted July 10, 2023 HI, Chromecast only supports stereo AAC. It's something about the aac codec that's it's limited to 2ch only. Maybe licensing but I'm not sure.

Oh well :) 1
