skooogis 7 Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Hi, yesterday I had some issues with my Shield Pro. I first noticed that the "HDR"-logo on my LG tv didnt show up, and when I look at the statistics I saw that it was a directplay-error. Have not had this issue with any media for a long time. When I switched to LG-app, HDR logo showed up and directplay worked. Attached are logs Best regards embyserver-63823852800.txt ffmpeg-directstream-36895787-8517-4387-84e1-1ee889371352_1.txt ffmpeg-directstream-c81db968-448d-41e6-ab84-9f742e3d1d99_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-2cd4d79a-2ecd-46c7-90c4-02e28ae1b7f8_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-fe54ad30-b941-4bc8-b4d9-71ac44d133b1_1.txt
ebr 16177 Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Hi. Looks like this is actually a DolbyVision item. Does your TV support DolbyVision? It is probably supposed to fall back to HDR if not but, depending on exactly how the item was created, this may or may not work.
skooogis 7 Posted July 5, 2023 Author Posted July 5, 2023 My TV supports Dolby Vision and it works on other media.. And on LG app it falls back to Hdr but on Shield it does not..
ebr 16177 Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Can you please play that item for a few seconds and then follow the instructions to send a log from the app?

rbjtech 5284 Posted July 7, 2023 Posted July 7, 2023 Worth updating (sideloading) to the latest AndroidTV version (2.0.88g) as I notice you are still on 2.0.83g There have been some enhancements to Exo relating to DV - so this may resolve the DirectPlay error/problem. I have zero issues with 2.0.83g and it plays every form of DV that I throw at it - DV5, DV7 and DV8 ...

Yep, something about this particular item is giving Exo a problem. playerFailed [eventTime=0.46, mediaPos=0.00, window=0, period=0, errorCode=ERROR_CODE_IO_UNSPECIFIED Can you try with the latest beta?

DV8 is definately fine as I'v played a few of those since the update (I'm now on .88 since the release) - I'll double check DV5 and DV7 .. I'll report back shortly .. 1

All looks good Eric - tested both DV7 (had to re-rip, as I've since converted all my DV7's to DV8's for maximum compability on other devices..) and DV5 - all direct playing fine, triggering DV with HD Audio passthrough to an AVR as the did before. In beta it gets recognized as HDR but not DV. Plex-app recognizes same media as DV.

Have you updated to the latest Beta version .88 as per the requests above ? If you have done so and it still fails, then it would also be useful to see a mediainfo extract and a small sample of the file.
