This is my friends log he uploaded at 10:30 Eastern standard time. Isgladys2749

if he doesn’t manual login, he’ll have pictures as in DVD  covers for a while, sometimes it lasts a few days sometimes longer. And then they would just disappear one day

This is the android TV app.

Oh, I have him set it so it says under start of behavior login as this user. Because remember, last user doesn’t seem to work

Yea it loads icons. But it’s much slower. Plus requires a monthly membership rather than just the one time fee.
it does lose icons sometimes but if logged in manually works.
I have the atv version works fine. A number of people do seem to have no issue but I don’t understand why a few have this persistent icon issues. It doesn’t affect playing .

Hi. Is the WAN address on your Emby server dashboard showing an IPv6 address?

Yes, sometimes. It shows an IPv6 address whenever they are connecting. And that’s why I thought whenever you did Emmanuel login you were forcing it to connect without the IP V6. That’s what I don’t get is that it  will show icons for a little bit but then later it doesn’t it’s like they are getting disconnected. Even whenever it is set to always keep them logged in.

Hi.  Can you try sideloading our standard android app on the same device and see how that compares?

Thanks.

I’m really curious as to what makes the standard android version different that makes it run slower. Because it seems like the basics are the same between the two apps, other than some minor UI changes.

Fire stick 4K, a fire stick 4K max, and an android TV box from mecool running android tv 11.
The android TV box it doesn’t seem to  make nearly as much of a difference. It’s still a slower at some things but it’s much closer. The fire stick 4K it is super slow on there. The max it’s still pretty slow in comparison to the Fire TV version but it’s better.

Okay, so that is the issue with the images.  The TV app uses an image library that does not support an IPv6 address with a specified port (which is how all our addresses are usually).

So why don’t the icon stay then? Because if you login  manually and the icons are there, why do they go away sometimes? Is Emby logging them out?  I was wondering if they chose that at the bottom of the start up screen where it says auto log out and default is one hour to change that to never if that would change anything.

OK, we are continuing to work on improving the performance of this. Thanks.

I appreciate it. By the way, I see people in here who ranting complain about things. I just wanted to say that I am not complaining. Just want to offer feedback on what I see so if it is indeed an app issue, it can be looked at.

Why did you guys take away themes and intro skip from non-Premier subscriptions?

Hi, those always required Emby Premiere. They were not taken away.

If the image is requested with an IPv6 url, it isn't going to display.  When you log in manually, you are forcing an IPv4 address.  if you allow the auto connect logic to re-connect you later, it is going to get the server address from the server (what is displayed on your dashboard).  If that is an IPv6 address, those images will not display then.

None of this will be a problem with the standard app.

Well, I thought that by changing the auto log out for the default one hour to never would solve that. And it seems to for most people. Yeah I know the standard app doesn’t do it, but as I’ve said before, the standard app requires a monthly fee, not everybody wants to do that. Also, as I’ve stated, it runs slower. Hopefully whatever changes that were made from the android TV to the other version can be optimized.
hopefully whenever they get everything optimize, so that it runs faster, and then we have the ability to choose between the mobile in her face, or the standard ATV interface, that would be ideal.
