"Back" navigation issue in Standard Android app on Fire TV

I am running the standard Android app (updated to current  version on 7/1/23) on my Fire Cube.  I got an USB IR receiver so that I can control the Cube with my Harmony remote.  The receiver responds to XBox 360 commands which all work fine in Emby except for the "Back" command (the B button).  It seems that it goes back 2 or 3 times with one press (even with repeat set to 0 on the Harmony).  With an older version of the standard app it would just go back too far.  With the new version (as of 7/1/23) it still goes back too far but the display is all messed up because it is displaying multiple "levels" on top of each other.

Note that with the Emby app for Fire TV, Back works as expected with the same setup so it seems to be a difference in the way the standard app handles the keypress.
