Guest Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 (edited) IMHO it woul be cool if you can include informations of the actual Server Hardware on the Server Dashboard. Best of all would be if you can integrate some live data like CPU load or HDD Temperatures. In Linux it should be no problem with lmsensor, for windows it woul be relatively easy to use live data from a third pary plugin like openhardwaremonitor http://openhardwaremonitor.org/ (thats the way like phpsysinfo get's it's live data on windows systems) What do you guys think about hat idea? top or flop? Yea, memory usage/available CPU info, maybe some graphical data stats, or top "streamers/users"? I thought I was the only one that would be interested in this so I never asked..... :-) Edited October 27, 2014 by pir8radio
aspdend 177 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 +1 for me - hardware usage etc would be a great addition
Latchmor 584 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Yip, sounds good. I made a similar but more specific FR about HD space but your's sounds better http://mediabrowser.tv/community/index.php?/topic/7385-fr-server-show-server-os-space-available/ Cheers
Luke 42077 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 this would have to support windows, osx and every linux distro we support. and it would have to fit within our goal of having the web client be a mobile first design that scales up nicely to tablets and desktops. So this is not a quick thing a plugin developer can whip up by any means.
snazy2000 344 Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 I did plan on making this while ago but wasnt possible to edit the main web ui from inside plugin. I did request this feature
jluce50 122 Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 If you're wanting to monitor your system while you're away, check out Pulseway. It's free for up to 5 servers (I believe). You install the monitor on your pc and then they have mobile apps and a web interface that allow really fine-grained control over your system. You can view/manage services, processes, temps, disk space/health, etc. Plus you can set up notifications for all kinds of events (temp, free space, etc.). There's really not much it can't do. I used it while on vacation to keep tabs on things. At one point I was streaming from MB and it got stuck so I opened up the app and restarted the MB service from 1300 miles away. Pretty cool! I agree that being able to see this info in MB would be cool, but this might hold you over until that gets implemented... :-)

Guest Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 (edited) @jluce50: But Pulseway sadly kicked the Web Dashboard for free users. And I don't have always a Smartphone at Hand and just want to check stats quickly via a Webbrowser ;-P Also they provide just live data and no data for long time periods. But thats another point. ebr 16169 Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 If we were to try to include such information in the MB dashboard, I would think the best approach would be to attempt to utilize something like Pulseway and just read data from its API (if available).
Guest Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 (edited) Yes, if I remember correctly Pulseway provides a API. Also they have Agents for every kind of System (Windows, Linux, Mac, etc).Would be cool if this is possible ..::edit::.. Available Pulseway API: https://www.pulseway.com/api Edited October 29, 2014 by CM000n
jluce50 122 Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Not sure what the licensing would be like for Pulseway. Another option (for Windows) would be HWiNFO.

Yeah, I forgot the web dashboard was no longer available for free users. Not really an issue for me, though. I haven't had any issues with the data not updating, personally.
Guest Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 (edited) I didn't talk about not updating data. I talked about there are no time series data available with Pulseway for longer time periods (day, week, month) :-P If possible, I think Pulseway would be a better joice as a Hardware Info Backend, because it supports more systems :-) Edited October 28, 2014 by CM000n

I just made the other suggestion in case Pulseway has prohibitive licensing fees or something like that.
The Baron 64 Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 A good idea. If we could see the CPU and network load (of the MBS host machine), that would be great.
