Misinthe 46 Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 Hello everyone, I'm having issues with the Scan Media Library, I made some changes to my movies and then ran the Scan Media Library to update the server, it started fine, but then it got stuck at 90%, I tried rebooting the server and start it again but that didn't help. I left it running and it's been over 12 hours and it hasn't moved. Any help would be appreciated.
Luke 42078 Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 HI, please attach the emby server log and we'll be able to offer some advice on how to speed it up. Thanks.

Luke 42078 Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 Ok, there's no evidence that it's stuck. I would just be patient and allow the scan to finish. Also to improve the performance of the scan, try removing these plugins and then restarting the server: Playback Reporting 2.0.0.3 Podnapisi 1.0.9.0 Statistics 3.0.10.0 SubDb 1.0.7.0

The specs of it right now are 12 Cores, 64GB RAM, Nvidia Quadro K2000. Should I allocate more resources for it? Thank you.
Luke 42078 Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 I would start with my suggestion regarding the plugins.

Is there a better way to get reporting and statistics? I know the server has the "Reports" tab, but that doesn't have as much info as the plugins did.

rbjtech 5284 Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 Your log is full of 1000's of open subtitle rate limit issues - if you are using a free account, then you are limited to the number of requests per day. (200 I believe) see opensubtitles for details. Each request after this amount just delays the scan. Either sign up for an account that allows more requess per day, or turn it off and get the subtitles from elsewhere.

So I do have a VIP subscription to them, and I opened another topic for that same issue. I didn’t know you can set Emby to get subtitles from other places?

It may just be a matter of running the scan every day until it eventually catches up and only 'new' items are requesting opensubtitle queries.

That's why in my other post I asked how to keep check the files without Subtitles so I can make sure it's going down. Thank you! 1
ughaus 0 Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Running into this issue as well, I cancelled a scan after it was running for 11 hours. Usually it used to take under 15 minutes. embyserver.txt

It has a bunch of errors scanning the simpsons episodes, and a bunch of thumbnail creation going on - but nothing is 'slow' from what i can see. You need to provide the log for the time peroid it got when it got 'stuck' .
ughaus 0 Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Thanks for checking For now just letting it run and watching the logs tail -f /var/lib/emby/logs/embyserver.txt Thumbnail creation in progress, a few errors but I reckon that's due to the content format and most of processes are succeeding
Luke 42078 Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 Hi, there is no evidence that it is stuck, only that it is taking longer than you’d like. For faster library scans consider disabling the library option to import missing episodes into your database.
Misinthe 46 Posted September 3, 2023 Author Posted September 3, 2023 @ughaus my issue was just the amount of media it's scanning, I just rebuilt my server, and the initial scan took 4 days to complete.
