Is there an option in emby that enables stereo upmix? or is there any addon for emby that does that?

Why would you want this? Or maybe I don’t understand the request?

Don’t your devices play mono on L&R already (mine do and can play it on all 7.2 channels and if I choose with some terrible THX options)…

… you can’t turn a a skateboard into a good sailboat …😉

… nor can you turn mono into good stereo …🙃 mono never contains any stereo encoding ( that i know of )

...Although I do seem to recall ‘WinAmp’ could use a “comb setting/plugins”, That was terrible too…

AND PLEASE Don’t Cross-post on this forum...

I apologize for cross posting this post; it was a mistake and i didn't know how to delete it

as for why would i want this, im fully aware of the audio characteristics' difference between a mono and a stereo since i am an expert in music systems and home theaters; stereo upmixing is perfect with my denon 7.2 home theater since the AV reciever itself does the upmixing but on my other system ( Logitech Z906 THX ) it is unable to upmix and can only decode the dolby digital or dts as is, so im using Kodi with an emby addon in order to get what i want, yet it would be much better if emby can do this by itself

Hi. Do you actually mean downmix?  i.e. go from 5+ channels to 2....

Hi. No i mean exactly the opposite of that sir; i need to upscale from 2 channels to 5.1, that way i can enjoy the full power of my audio system when listening to music instead of getting half the power output from 2 channels only.

kodi has this feature within its settings and whenever i want to listen to music on all my speakers i have to do it using kodi, Emby solution is a premium leveled server that lacks only 2 features to become the perfect one stop solution, the stereo to multichannel upmix and the ability to play several types of subtitles directly without having to transcode the video first.
