hawaiizfynest 0 Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 I have a QNAP NAS and it has emby installed. I already have the ports forwarded so that its accessible via WAN address, i already have a domain on godaddy for it, i just cant figure out how to get this forwarded to my domain. Also, when i update the app on QNAP, it wants me to delete the app and reinstall, will that mess up my config and if so, any tips on what i should do for updates?

Luke 42083 Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 Hi, do you mean how to point your godaddy domain to your ip address? Quote Also, when i update the app on QNAP, it wants me to delete the app and reinstall, will that mess up my config and if so, any tips on what i should do for updates? Should be OK, but can you show a screenshot of this? Thanks.

justinrh 260 Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 (edited) Go into DNS management for your domain, create an A record and add your IP address for it. If you want a sub-domain, create a CNAME record and add your hostname, then the domain+period. Edited June 28, 2023 by justinrh
