I love Emby!

I have a Windows 11 server and a Sony Google TV.

We sleep with Emby on which allows for a commercial/informercial free sleep experience without watching movies that get too loud.

Every night when we Crank up the bedroom TV and launch Emby, it won't connect. If I then restart the TV completely, it will connect no problems.

 That being said, I don't have this problem with any other video app on my TV (there are several).   Any idea how to fix this problem?

Note both devices are connected wirelessly but I don't think that is the problem.

 I have sideloaded this APKM file I downloaded.

Emby for Android 3.3.07 (160-640dpi) (Android 5.0+) APK Download by Emby Media - APKMirror

When I try to use it, it says I can only watch my playlist for only 1 minute free. Then I have to subscribe...:(

To see if this solves my problem, I will need to run it nightly for a few consecutive days to determine if I no longer need to restart my TV every night to get it to work.

 Is there another Apk or Apkm I can use that does not require me to subscribe to your service? Not saying I won't, but I'd like to see if this fixes my issue.

Hi.  We thought you were going to try over a few evenings.  At this time that sideloaded app requires Premiere but there is a more recent version than the one you installed which is available directly on our web site.

The sideloaded version I have installed seems to solve the problem. It starts without me having to reboot the TV first!

But I have a couple of questions:

1. Why can't you fix the regular Android TV version so it does not require me to restart my TV?

2. Why do you require payment for the sideloaded version? I don't want Premier features, just the same features as the other FREE versions.

I use Emby to give me commercial free sleep. I have a large library of documentaries that is guaranteed to knock you out in 15 minutes!

Sorry to be a pain, but my wife goes to bed first and yells at me every time she has to restart the TV to get Emby working!

Is there any way to get notified when this issue is solved and the new version for TV is ready?
