DrQuinn69 4 Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 All, I read over the documentation for naming movies/artwork and only saw an example for naming multi part movies but did not see anything for naming artwork for multi part movies. Apologies in advance if I missed it, I'm old. Example for naming multi part movies: \Movies\Avatar (2009)\Avatar (2009)-cd1.mkv \Movies\Avatar (2009)\Avatar (2009)-cd2.mkv I typically only have one Primary file for multipart movies: \Movies\Avatar (2009)\Avatar (2009).jpg Am I supposed to have separate .jpg files for each part? \Movies\Avatar (2009)\Avatar (2009)-cd1.jpg \Movies\Avatar (2009)\Avatar (2009)-cd2.jpg Thank you for your help and again, apologies if I missed it.
Neminem 1523 Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 (edited) Not sure ! But try \Movies\Avatar (2009)\Avatar (2009)-poster.jpg or \Movies\Avatar (2009)\poster.jpg That might show the poster for both files. Edited June 23, 2023 by jaycedk
DrQuinn69 4 Posted June 23, 2023 Author Posted June 23, 2023 Jaycedk, Thank you, will give it a try. Have a bunch of files like this that aren't working out so was hoping the developers would advise before I make all the changes. Take care.
Luke 42083 Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 Quote I typically only have one Primary file for multipart movies: Hi, this should be fine. let us know how you get on. Thanks !
DrQuinn69 4 Posted July 3, 2023 Author Posted July 3, 2023 No luck Luke - can't seem to get this to work. The media type is Movies and when I add media Emby creates a screenshot and uses that image as the poster rather than using the "Movie Name (2023)-poster.jpg" image that already exists. I tested using the following file names: All files in one folder, Movie Name (2023): Movie Name (2023).nfo Movie Name (2023)-fanart.jpg Movie Name (2023)-poster.jpg Movie Name (2023)-pt1.mp4 Movie Name (2023)-pt2.mp4 Movie Name (2023)-pt3.mp4 I also tried the following which did not work: Movie Name (2023).nfo Movie Name (2023)-pt1-fanart.jpg Movie Name (2023)-pt1-poster.jpg Movie Name (2023)-pt1.mp4 Movie Name (2023)-pt2.mp4 Movie Name (2023)-pt3.mp4 Has anyone else ever run into this before?
DrQuinn69 4 Posted July 3, 2023 Author Posted July 3, 2023 Just tried your suggestion Luke. When I refresh Metadata (Replace all Metadata and check beside replace existing images I get a black "default" image, aka no image.
DrQuinn69 4 Posted July 3, 2023 Author Posted July 3, 2023 Luke, I found something that works. I haven't tested the fanart/backdrop file yet. If I use the following naming: Movie Name (2023).nfo Movie Name (2023)-fanart.jpg Movie Name (2023)-Disc 1.jpg Movie Name (2023)-Disc 1.mp4 Movie Name (2023)-Disc 2.mp4 Movie Name (2023)-Disc 3.mp4 Seems to be an issue with using "pt1" vs "Disc 1" for some reason. Thank goodness for FileRenamerTurbo. 1
