No episode preview shown

Running the standard android app on Google tv with Chromecast

At the end of an episode, it shows continue or next episode and keep watching  about halfway up the screen. I assume if it showed, the next episodes info would be below it but instead I get nothing. It's transparent I guess so I just see the episode I'm playing. Is there a known issue with the next episode preview?

Also, I noticed the progress bar to the next episode seems choppy. Ie it goes a bit, pauses, goes, pauses, etc. I also use the android tv app and that one looks really smooth.
