emby keeps crashing and causing windows to crash

Hi,

I downloaded emby last week and paid for premier, when it works I love it. However, I have found if it sits idle for any more than maybe a half hour it drops my media, saved movies, tv shows, live tv, everything. Sometimes waiting a few minutes with client open it may re-access the media, but most of the time I have to go to the server, restart emby, wait about 5 minutes and everything comes back. Also, if I have the emby server running, my computer crashed after about 15 hours, close emby server, computer keeps running fine. My machine is running Windows 10. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi.  Is it possible your disc drives are becoming unavailable?

Please post a server log from when this problem occurred.

Thanks.

I highly doubt it is my drives as when this happens plex still works, and the live tv isn't on my drive, its a URL. I have attached the log from from when I just restarted, it is not letting me access my media right now.

Exactly what are you trying and what is happening?

on the server (or client) I I have 4 bubbles Live tv, Recordings, Movies, Tv shows. If I click them nothing happens, if i go to one of the tabs I get a blank screen. If it is connected, it will show things under now playing, right now it does not.

I would move the transcoding path to another drive.  There may be some issue in accessing the drive inside the User's profile AppData.  I like having transcoding process somewhere else so the main drive is not used.

is there a resource that tells me how to do that?

Server Settings

Also please turn off automatic port mapping in the network settings.  That is failing and spamming your log with errors.

Finally, turn on debug logging under the Logs section and post a log after the issue occurs again.

Thanks.

I have done the suggested changes and everything seems to be ok, I will update in about a day

Lots of spammed error messages in the log making it hard to read.
Go into Network menu and turn off Enable automatic port mapping

You can uninstall the port mapper plugin as well.
Restart Emby and your logs will be much easier to read after that.
