frpatte 2 Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 Bonjour, I try to configure an https connection for my emby-server without any success... I can connect from localhost:8096 from http://www.mydomain.net:8096 But the connection https://www.mydomain.net:8920 is impossible. The https connection is enabled for my server and works fine. I can read that on the dashboard page of emby, there is an "advanced setting" link but I am unable to see where is this link. Thank you for helping. F.P.
Luke 42078 Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 Hi, did you setup ssl on your Emby server, under the network settings? You need to do this first before you can use https.
frpatte 2 Posted June 5, 2023 Author Posted June 5, 2023 Hi, here is what I have done for these settings: LAN networks : blank Local IP address: blank Local HTTP port number: 8096 Local HTTPS port number: 8920 Allow remote connections to this Emby Server. ticked Remote IP address filter: blank Remote IP address filter mode: Whitelist Public HTTP port number: 8096 Public HTTPS port number: 8920 External domain: mydomain.net Custom SSL certificate path: /etc/letsencrypt/csr/0003_csr-certbot.pem Secure connection mode: Prefered but not required Max simultaneous video streams: Unlimited Internet streaming bitrate limit (Mbps): blank That's all I have on this page "networks". If I scan the port 8096 on the emby machine, it is open, but the port 8920 remains closed although this port is not filtered by the firewall. Thank you for helping. F.P.

frpatte 2 Posted June 5, 2023 Author Posted June 5, 2023 OK! Thank you. I am not an expert in web-certificates and did not understand this instruction. So, I converted the certificate to pfx and now it works. Some trouble however: I put my pfx certificate in /etc/letsencrypt/archive and try to give this path to emby but at the moment where I reached the folder "archive" the form does not show anything! I moved the certificate to the "certs" folder of emby-server and it worked. Thank you.

The server must not have access to that location, but it sounds like you found a place to put it, thanks for the feedback.
