When I Play a file with VLC it is louder than when I play through Emby. Even when the sound bar is turned up it still just isn't as loud as just playing the file through VLC is there something I'm missing?

Is it 5.1 channel audio, or 2 channel?

Perhaps you're losing volume during the downmix from 5.1 to 2?

Try increasing the 'Audio boost when downmixing' setting within the transcoding settings. I've got mine set to 3.

My suggestion is to adjust the volume in VLC so it matches Emby.

Problem solved.

Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
