I have my server set up and it is working with my laptop several PC's and all my android devices but for some reason it will not work with my z600 workstation I checked the ports everything seems fine I have tried to access both manually and through emby connect I can only assume it is a client issue any advice would be appreciated.

Hi, what exactly happens when you try to connect?

Posted

It just says cannot connect to server pleas try again later. I did not see any specific error message or code. @Luke

Is this machine inside the server's local network, or outside?

What app or browser are you using?

See anything in the dashboard or log file?

Is that machine on a VPN? Have you customized any emby server network settings?

Posted

The machine is on a vpn Nord vpn that allows remote connection in settings and a static ip none of the emby server settings are custom I tried turning that off already and it did not work same issue @Luke

That's just it it is not showing up in the log files. No record of the device communicating but they both have internet and I can log in to emby connect. @justinrh

Can you ping or tracert your server?

Ok so new information I tried going through the browser on my phone but it gives me the exact same error as the pc so it is a server issue I am going to uninstall and reinstall to see if this fixes it. I saw someone else had a similar issue and this is how they resolved it. @Luke

How exactly did you try to connect with the browser?

Each browser on each computer could be set to block non-secure sites and make all IP numbers suspect and give you an error screen.  This is adjusted within your browser and sometimes firewall and OS security settings.  So, a particular computer running all or specific browsers could be blocked from getting to an IP address.  You can either adjust your security settings for that browser.  Apple products and browser software typically has this turned on.  You would get a screen that says the site is not available.  That could explain why one computer cannot find the Emby server.

I don't see any details above that you are using just an IP address.  It's very important to specify each step when reporting an issue.  You don't want to actually list the remote IP address in the forum, just tell us if you are using the IP numbers or not.

Example help for MS Edge about this issue: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/enhance-your-security-on-the-web-with-microsoft-edge-b8199f13-b21b-4a08-a806-daed31a1929d
