PaFe93 0 Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 Hi i've got the same video in 2 formats, mp4 and mkv when i start watching a video in mp4 format and stop it before the end in "Continue Watching" it's displaying the movie in both mp4 and mkv file format, so 2 entries Is it possible to only display the video with the format used as start only and bypass the other one ? Thanks
GrimReaper 4749 Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 Formats have nothing to do with it - you need to multi-version those items, in either of three ways: 1) Put all different files in same folder and follow naming convention for multi-version movies https://emby.media/support/articles/Movie-Naming.html#multi-version-movies 2) Multi-select and select "Group Versions" in three-dot menu 3) Use community-made Auto-Grouping plugin
PaFe93 0 Posted May 30, 2023 Author Posted May 30, 2023 Thanks for your reply I'm going to check, but for now 1) the files are in 2 separates folders => not working 2) i've got to find where i can do this (cannot find "Group Versions" for now) 3) gonna try
PaFe93 0 Posted May 30, 2023 Author Posted May 30, 2023 So 1) the files are in 2 separates folders => not working 2) "Group Versions" is working and add the possibility to choose "Version" => not satisfying cause not native 3) don't want to add a plugin to resolve the problem... (i've got too many files to handle) Can't Emby only display in "Continue Watching", for each profile, the file type used at start ? Like : - profile User1 - launch file movie.mp4 - stop file movie.mp4 - display in "Continue Watching" file movie.mp4 only (and not movie.mp4 AND movie.mkv) - profile User2 - launch file movie.mkv - stop file movie.mkv - display in "Continue Watching" file movie.mkv only (and not movie.mp4 AND movie.mkv) Is that so complicated to filter "Continue Watching" on file "name.type" used at start ? (i'm just asking) Thanks P.S. : as using Emby beta as Emby Premiere user, is there's a way to implement this fonctionnality ?

Hi, if you name your files using our multi-version naming guidelines, then the versions will be joined together: https://emby.media/support/articles/Movie-Naming.html#multi-version-movies You can also manually group items if needed.
