Emby Server Performance Issues After 24 Hours

Hi everyone,

I've been using Emby Server on my Windows system, and I've noticed an issue with its performance. After running for more than 24 hours, my client devices experience significant lag when connecting to the server. Content takes a long time to load, and sometimes, playback is not possible. I have to exit the Emby server on the Windows machine and restart it to restore normal performance. However, the issue reoccurs after 24 hours or even less.

I don't think my Emby server has been the target of a recent hack or attack since I've checked the system files and found no anomalies, and the server hasn't completely stopped running.

Can anyone help me troubleshoot this issue? I'm not sure what's causing it, and I've tried searching for solutions online, but I haven't found a definitive answer.

Any suggestions or advice on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hi there, can you please provide the emby server log from when the problem occurred?

Thanks.

There are many files in logs. Which one is needed? And how can I send it to you? If I send it to you right here, it seems like I'm giving away my privacy.

Thank you

@BIgdongdong1028 Just supply the embyserver log file that covers the time period when the issue arose.

The log file should auto hide your personal information, such as IP address, domain names if used etc.

You can either upload the file directly here, share to OneDrive/Google Drive or similar, then provide the link here.

@BIgdongdong1028You might want to edit your post and remove your personal details.

Emby should obfuscate your IP addresses and domain name, so not sure what happened there.

My post can not be edited, please tell me how to delete it or re-edit it.

The one to upload would be the complete log file from the time when the problem was experienced. Thanks.

The complete log was updated after I restarted the Emby server. It was originally about 300MB in size. I can provide you with the log when I encounter lag again tomorrow. However, as the log is over 300MB, do I need to upload it here or could you provide me with an email address where I can send it to you?

You can PM me the log file. Thanks.

A few changes I would suggest. Try removing these plugins:

	Douban 1.0.4.0
	InfuseSync 1.4.2.0
	Playback Reporting 2.0.0.3

Then restart the server. Secondly, and more importantly, you have something sending a lot of data requests to your emby server, and this isn't an emby app:

2023-05-31 09:25:01.356 Info Server: http/1.1 POST http://‌‍‍127.0.0.1‌:8096/emby/Items/519562/Refresh?Recursive=true. UserAgent: go-resty/2.7.0 (https://github.com/go-resty/resty)

What is that? Whatever software it is, try shutting down and leaving it shut down, and then see how things perform when the server isn't being hammered by incoming requests.

Thank you very much. I will try to make these changes first and then observe the results!
