Emby on TrueNAS SCALE won't connect

Hello! I'm having an issue that started today and have look for a solution without success.

Yesterday my Emby server was working good, I can log in and everything. Today, the server is running, but it disconnected all the clients (Apple TV and Fire TV) and the Web UI is giving me a password error.

I have not changed or deleted any user or password, and if I try to reset it it gives me the "Please try again within your home network to initiate the password reset process.". I am on my home network, no idea why is not working.

TrueNAS does not have a GUI so I can try to access from the server itself, so I'm a loss and have no idea how to proceed. I read that if I uninstall and re-install Emby everything gets wiped out, so that's something I would not like to do if possible.

Any pointers as to what can I do?

Thanks!

Hi there, what version of Emby Server are you running?

Hello Luke, thank you for your reply.

Right now I'm running 4.7.12.0. I was on the previous version (don't remember the version) when the issue started. TrueNAS suggested an update so I did it, hopefully to fix the issue but to no avail.

Small update:

Tried again the "forget password" procedure. Even when Emby says that I'm not in the home network (which I am), it generated the change password txt file, although with a different IP. I changed it to my local one, put the PIN, and it said "password has been removed, please log in with a blank password". However, if I try, it's still giving me the wrong password issue.

I don't know what else to try.

When you try to login with the blank password, are you entering your user name manually, or clicking on the user on the login screen?

Sorry the delay in my response. I put the username manually, I don't see any pre-populated username. I've also tried with the Emby Connect email/password both on the Web UI or clients, same issue.

Just in case, I have only one user on the system, plus the Emby Connect username. I've tried the PIN option as well, it says on the website "pin accepted" but nothing on the screens.

@Pottetancan you please locate the Emby Server log from when you tried to do all of this and send it to me via PM?

You can find the path to the server data folder here:

Emby Server Data Folder

Thanks !

I apologize for the delay. I'm unable to find those files since the installation is on TrueNAS, and any of the locations on the link you provided do not have these files. I don't know what else to do. @Carlo

What folder did you configure for config/data in the docker container?

Found them. I'll send them via PM.

Does anyone have any insight on to what to do?

HI @Pottetan, @Carlo can jump on a remote session with you and take a look at what's going on. Thanks.

Thanks Luke. At the end I deleted the installation and created a new one. I'll be saving metadata on .nfo files from now on. Thanks!
