x2desmit 7 Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 I searched the forum to see if anyone has already asked this, and I don't see it. Apologies if I missed it. I had a question about the new Rocky Linux (basically a replacement for CentOS since Red Hat is a bunch of massive kill joys) and it's support for Emby. Does anyone see a problem with it not working since it is just like CentOS? I don't mind Beta testing if this has not been thought of yet.
Luke 42078 Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 Hi, we haven’t tried this os ourselves but have you tried our cent os package?
x2desmit 7 Posted May 23, 2023 Author Posted May 23, 2023 I've not tried it yet, but I have a Rocky system going, and will report back after I'm done. Thanks! 1
x2desmit 7 Posted May 25, 2023 Author Posted May 25, 2023 Rocky Linux working well so far. The only thing that popped up with the SELinux prompts about creating a user. 1 1
DarinM 11 Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 I have Emby running on RL 8.8 and everything works great. I had started out on FreeBSD 12 but could not get hardware transcoding to work. HW Transcoding works perfectly on Rocky Linux. I installed the Nvidia drivers following the standard RHEL instructions. After that I can use my RTX 3050. 1
