FirstPugSupervisor 1 Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 Hey all, Ok, I made a previous thread about Emby Connect not quite working for me. Not a "huge" deal because I've bypassed that by simply setting up a Reverse Proxy and having a URL route through CloudFlare to my Emby Server.. so I can live with that. For the most part, everything works, I can stream music and videos to my devices as expected. However, I've got one little snafu, I have a M3U file with Internet Streams that I've, in the past, streamed through Emby. I've confirmed the M3U still works by using it straight in VLC on another machine and the streams work without issue that way.. However, when I try to load the streams through Emby, it fails given the setup I have above. Does anyone know where I would even really begin to debug this issue? I'm sure this is more of a misconfiguration issue than an Emby issue directly. Thanks!
Luke 42077 Posted May 14, 2023 Posted May 14, 2023 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!

So, when I attempt to start the stream I get the error message "No compatible streams are currently available. Please try again later or contact your system administrator for details." See attached file for log information. embyserver.log
Luke 42077 Posted May 15, 2023 Posted May 15, 2023 Hi, do you have something that might be causing dns resolutions to fail? Look at the errors in your server log. The server is unable to reach both Emby domains and the domain of your live TV. It looks like you have something blocking the outgoing connections. Can you look into this?

Can you look into this? So I've looked into this a bit, it seems like all connections to outside sites hits a bit of a snag for Emby while running in TrueNAS. Because I've noticed that my instance of Emby cannot obtain Album Art automatically either. It seems as tho it cannot reach services like IMDB, MusicDB, etc. etc. Beyond that, I am able to access the streaming service through other means. So maybe this is something within the docker container that needs to be addressed? I am using the official chart for Emby in TrueNAS so my config options are kind of limited; however, so I am a little blind on where to begin opening outgoing connection options for the docker container itself. If you have any insight that'd be great! Thanks!
FirstPugSupervisor 1 Posted May 24, 2023 Author Posted May 24, 2023 (edited) Ok, I think I've figured out the 'cause' of this issue. Or at least a work around. If you are using TrueNAS and have a bridge network setup and you see that your docker containers are not utilizing any outbound traffic, you can simply open one of your network adapter configs and 'Save' your changes without actually changing anything. Test the connection and save it and for some reason, this resolves your issues. Link to original post I found this solution from - Edited May 24, 2023 by FirstPugSupervisor
