IP not logged to Dashboard?

So I was seeing a weird Activity (below) and wondered why there is NO IP info on the Activity Screen.

I went to the my server - logged in and played a video locally and *see below* - when it's "NOW PLAYING" it is showing the ip. but after it stops playing it no longer shows that info.

 

Did I miss a setting? or why is this not showing? does it only log External IP's? 

Honestly I'm more curious if this was a bug since there are hundreds of "finished playing" like below, but if I have a kid up at 3:45am I'd like to know which one!

That's normal. IP's are not reported on playback activity, only when that device is "Authenticated" (which you should also see in the Activity screen)

If you would like to get more insights into playback activity you should check out the excellent plugin "Playback Reporting" available from the plugin catalog -- it also logs IP addresses for each playback event, real-time and historically.

Probably better if you just discuss with your child lol, but you also have the option to restrict usage between certain times if you wanted to via Parental Controls in Emby..

In Server > Users > [user] > Parental Control > Access Schedule
