jglazer63 22 Posted May 7, 2023 Posted May 7, 2023 Is it possible to use TMM to manage emby collections? While emby does have an ok manager, when you have complex collections it is very painful to organize your movies. I would like to, for example, create a collection of all star trek movies and then individual collections of the star trek timelines. There are other examples. Going through the emby interface is quite time consuming. Thx!
Luke 42083 Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 Hi, why exactly do you think it's difficult to create collections in Emby?
jglazer63 22 Posted May 8, 2023 Author Posted May 8, 2023 Because you have to go through a beautiful, UI to do everything when a basic/primitive list-based UI would actually work better. Especially since you can see so much more with TMM than you can with Emby when looking at simple video names.
Luke 42083 Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 Have you tried switching to list or table views for this purpose?
jglazer63 22 Posted May 9, 2023 Author Posted May 9, 2023 Yes. that is how I work it now but it is still no where near as clean as TMM. Font is too large and not enough info.

You can already set TMM to save movie set info to a Kodi/Artwork Beef style and it'll follow same structure as Emby collections folder, in addition to creating collection.nfo; note that TMM collection management still has severe restrictions: movie can belong to only one collection and movie set folder name that include colon substitute will not be read by Emby which dumps it. Contrary to your impression, you cannot do that within TMM, only within Emby. Edited May 9, 2023 by GrimReaper 1
