Hi, @stevengibbard6

Can you confirm if you've gone ahead and forwarded out port 8096 from your router?

Have you checked what your IP address is as seen by an external checker (e.g. https://whatismyip.com ) is the same as that shown in the Emby dashboard?

If they are different, it may be that your ISP is using cgNAT, which will block access unless you can persuade them to give/sell you a fixed IP address.

Another way to detect this is to do a tracert to some external website, and if there are additional local addresses, other than those in your own network, then you likely have that problem.

If you are behind cgNAT, there are ways of working around it that we can discuss (not generally free, it's fair to say).

What do you mean by your home IP, then, and what's it different from?

In-home is a 192.168 address, which is normal.  Presumably that is working for you.

Emby is expecting that external contact comes through 82.x.x.x as shown there, so your port forwarding should be from 82.x.x.x to 192.168.y.y.  Is that how you have it?

Also, the 82.x.x.x is what should match that given by whatismyip.  Does it?

If you added 82.x.x.x into the LAN networks, you are sidestepping the security which limits the access to your Emby system from outside.

In this case you need to remove that again and check that you have actually told Emby to accept remote connections (tick box under the port settings on the networking page).
