Meerkater 1 Posted May 1, 2023 Posted May 1, 2023 Hi, Recently I migrated my Emby server from Windows to Mac (M2) Ventura. I connected the external disk with all the files. I restored a backup for all the settings. I changed the library to point to the new location. Playlists are copied to the corresponding folder on Mac and I changed the path in the playlists to make sure they work. All files are showing so this is working. Cover art for movies and series is also showing. For music however, some cover art is showing and some are not. Images are embedded in the files. On Windows this was working fine. What am I missing? Also some tabs are not showing data. For example artists. Thanks, Meerkater

Meerkater 1 Posted May 2, 2023 Author Posted May 2, 2023 (edited) Hi Luke, I did this in the settings within the section Library. I opened the different libraries and changed the path which was pointing to the old Windows path to the corresponding Mac path. Then I deleted the old reference. The external drive is the same. I did the same a couple of years ago when moving from Raspberry Pi to Windows and didn’t have any issues then. Thanks. Edited May 2, 2023 by Meerkater
Meerkater 1 Posted May 19, 2023 Author Posted May 19, 2023 (edited) @Carlo Do you have any ideas on this? Also favorited songs seem to be missing... The files are there but they are no longer favorited. Edited May 19, 2023 by Meerkater
Carlo 4561 Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 What happens if you unfavorite and then re-favorite a couple songs? Do they show up again after doing that?
Meerkater 1 Posted May 21, 2023 Author Posted May 21, 2023 @CarlosThanks for your response. Unfortunately this doesn't bring them back...
Meerkater 1 Posted May 21, 2023 Author Posted May 21, 2023 The steps that I followed when migrating from Windows to Mac: 1) Install Emby on Mac 2) Connect external hard drive 3) Restore backup of all settings via the plugin 4) Link the libraries again with Mac OS path to the same hard drive that I’ve used before. 5) Copy playlists and change the path to the songs. The songs show up in the playlist. Problems that I’m facing: 1) Favorited songs don’t show up under Favorites. Favorited movies and movie progress is visible and seems to be correct. 2) Not all album art for songs is shown. Before this was correct. When I migrated from Raspberry Pi to Windows a couple of years ago I followed the same steps and everything went well. I hope this explanation helps to determine the problem. Thanks.
Meerkater 1 Posted May 22, 2023 Author Posted May 22, 2023 Also data like album artists and albums seems to be missing…
Meerkater 1 Posted May 24, 2023 Author Posted May 24, 2023 Seems to be fixed now. I've added a new music library next to the one that already existed and pointed this to the same path. After indexing cover art and favorites where showing up.

Refreshing the metadata on the existing library I would think would also have done the trick.
