Yes - appears to be some residual data after a failure that is stopping the ready to download items to be downloaded

The issue is under investigation - there have already been some fixes in the latest beta of the Emby for Android app - see release notes for 3.4.66 and 3.4.67

Hopefully will be resolve in the future release. I am in version 3.4.67 on Emby Android, but it is still reoccurring. I don't want to delete all of my downloads just to fix this. 😢

Are you referring to download jobs created on Emby for Android version 3.4.65 and earlier ?  Or is this happening for new download jobs using 3.4.67 or later?

What about only deleting the download job that has the issue and see if that resolves the problem

Do you have adb available to access the android storage - so i can check if there are residual download files

I'm updated to the latest beta of the android app and tried deleting the series that was stuck at ready to transfer and then downloading again and the same 2 of 5 episodes are stuck at ready to transfer.  I don't have adb to check the storage location.  Happy to try anything else.

Attach phone through USB to a PC

On the phone settings, enable developer options and within that, enable USB debugging

On the PC in command line session, use adb - assuming you have installed the android platform tools.

Run  "adb devices" to see the devices. If you do not see the phone, unplug the usb and plug ir back and also toggle the USB Debugging option. Acknowledge and approve the debugging option prompts that pop up on the phone

Once the device is showing on the PC in response to adb devcies, example:

C:\Users\SA>adb devices
List of devices attached
R58M64B2YSB device
192.168.1.116:5555 device
192.168.1.219:5555 unauthorized

here in this example samsung phone with ID "R58M64B2YSB" is the usb connected devices

Then you can run adb commands to interrogate the phone and get info from it

So to see if there are any residual episode files, you need to go to shell - so in example below this is for my phone - change the ID to be that for your phone

This takes you to shell

adb -s R58M64B2YSB shell

you now have the linux shell commands availble to you, eg

pwd

In Shell Change directory to where the Download files are stored

cd /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.mb.android/files/Download

now you can drill through, using ls and cd commands

To exit from shell, type exit

I am on Android v3.40.70 the latest that i can update on Google Playstore. I tried another media, this time it's a series. Same 4mbps quality and it is transferring. I am now retrying the same movie i am having a hard time downloading, converting it to 12mbps quality. Still stuck in ready to transfer but i am able to play it fine.

status shows as ready to transfer but already downloaded and can be played on the android device in Downloads when offline?

If the issue is reprodcible, enable logging on the Android app and also have debug logging enabled on the emby server (see settings / logs) and for the test start afresh by re-launch of the server and the android app and when the problem arises and confirmed, note down the time and details of what being downloaded and get screenshots and then download the logs from both the server and the android app and attach here

This is the start of conversion to lower quality. I started the download on 18:26, Nowhere Special is the title.

Could you get me the previous android log. This log file is from Sun Jun 01 00:05:17

I need to also see the one covering 31 May from 18:00

Was that because you disabled debug logging on the android or was it not enabled when you started the download ?

FYI As you have adb, you might find it easier to download all logs - using:

adb -s xxxxxxxx /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.mb.android/files/logs/

Another option, as i have the android log for 1st June from midnight, you could get me the emby server log for that period . Just in case there are clues on what the earlier issue was

Should i just retry the whole process? I could do that. :)

This is for a specific movie ?

Yes you could but have debug logging enabled on both server and android beforehand and start the repro with a fresh re-launch of both the server and the android app with debug logging enabled beforehand

And before doing the download, use adb to get `ls -ail` directory listing in adb shell for the Download directory where movies download to

adb -s xxxxxx shell

and then in shell

cd /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.mb.android/files/Download/Videos
ls -ail

and get screenshot or export text out of the command line window

Save this and start the download test and when it gets stuck in ready state, get sceenshot and the logs from the server and the android and attach with the adb session log

You could at this point do another adb shell check and capture that as well

Please also confirm that under here there is only Videos and TV sub-directories (if TV series downloaded as well)

cd /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/com.mb.android/files/Download
ls -ail

Thanks
