However, I also mentioned BIG had a problem as well as several other movies. Most of the movies I just merged as it was simple. I also double checked and renamed the names of both of them as well as refreshed the metadata, as one was showing up as "BIG" with the date under it and the other was showing up as "BIG 1988". So, something was different in Emby's eyes. I have refreshed the browser several times waited about 10 minutes etc and this is still what I have. My ASD is going to make me align the file lengths (numbers only) so that it is a little more in line, but that is the only thing I changed manually about the folder structures and that is only to make it easier to read and validate. Thanks so much for looking into this. OK, I would just merge this one manually then. Please see if that helps.
LostInTheFold 4 Posted November 21, 2025 Posted November 21, 2025 so no idea why its not working then??

But anything that you merge or split manually will have to be managed manually forever. That includes if you might have previously used a community plugin to merge them for you. Right now that's the only thing I can think of.
LostInTheFold 4 Posted November 21, 2025 Posted November 21, 2025 Ahhhh, I see. I was wondering if I removed the folder and then scanned the DB and then later added it back in. Would that work? Or is there some remnant that that movie has been there somewhere? Just trying to figure out how to get this to work long term as even newer movies seem to have had issues. Granted most of the movies I have encountered issues are older rips and thus may have been manually merged or done with a plug-in.
Luke 42077 Posted November 21, 2025 Posted November 21, 2025 Yes that probably work, assuming there is a scan in between that removes them from the library.
LostInTheFold 4 Posted November 21, 2025 Posted November 21, 2025 Thank you so much Luke. I really appreciate your help on the multiple issues I have had and for putting up with my really slow responses. Its a great product and you have a good support team. If you want, I will try this and report back so you can provide to others. I will also clear out my scan for Blade Runner and see how that works. I have something like 600 movies so finding all of the multiples again will be fun. I might be able to do a folder search. 1
LostInTheFold 4 Posted November 26, 2025 Posted November 26, 2025 OK, so I tried copying the files out and waiting like 10 minutes and F5'ing the emby to force a refresh and that did not work. I also tried copying the files out and forcing a scan then copying them back in and that didn't seem to work. However, copying them out and then waiting over night and copying them back did indeed seem to work. Not sure what the difference is. It is possible that the scan was included in the wait time, I stayed up late and am still a little foggy as I am writing this, however, I have several movies that got fixed from this process, so I can vouch for it. It isn't like just 1 worked. 1
